In 2006, Joanne was given the highest honor from her peers as REALTOR of the Year for El Dorado County Association of REALTORS—and there’s a great reason for that. Since becoming a realtor in 1991, Joanne has successfully combined positive personal and professional attributes to create a personalized experience for her clients. “My clients are of the utmost importance to me both before and after the sale. The quest of finding a house is more than a real estate transaction; we are searching for a home that suits the client’s dream, wishes and lifestyle. It is a very subjective purchase which makes learning about my clients and building strong relationships especially important.”

As President of El Dorado County Association of REALTORS in 2004 plus her extensive service on the Board of Directors, Joanne has acquired years of practical experience. This has equipped her with an awareness and understanding that benefits her clients in the home buying and selling process. However, bringing her core values of loyalty, sound ethics, honesty and caring to the table engenders trust. In turn, many referrals come from former and existing clients because Joanne gained their respect. Her process of getting to know the client, learning what type of home they are seeking, and using intuition allows her to narrow down the property search, making it a productive, good experience for all. Once important parameters are defined, Joanne sets out on the “hunt” of finding a client’s special home, which she loves to do. “It’s important that I know the existing inventory, even private listings not on the open market so I can offer a wide selection to my clients. I also preserve a strong internal network to maintain awareness of what’s available in real time.”

Keeping apprised of market trends and changing factors in the real estate market, including law and the art of negotiation, allows Joanne to achieve a solid business transaction for homebuyers, investors, contractors and land developers. She is a member of the California Association of REALTORS, National Association of REALTORS, El Dorado County Association of REALTORS and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), taking advantage of continuing education opportunities that allow her to protect and educate her clients. She is always prepared for the ideal sale, where everything goes smoothly, as well as the challenging one that takes knowledge and determination.

Joanne never meets a stranger. Consequently, when a client introduces her it is always, "Meet my friend, Joanne, she's a REALTOR." She grew up in the little community of Paradise where her sense of community was nurtured. After buying her first home in Walnut Creek in 1972 with her family, in 1986 she moved to the beautiful foothills of El Dorado County. The area reminded Joanne of the quaint town where she grew up and it’s also something she shares with clients seeking a rural atmosphere; it creates a bond and an understanding, and it enriches her life.

Because Joanne remains a strong resource for her clients after the sale, she earned her spot as a Life Member of Top Achievers, Team 2000 plus networking group and member of the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce.

Joanne lives in Placerville with her husband Steve. They now have 6 grandchildren to spoil and adore. In their spare time, they love to hike, camp along the coast and enjoy fellowship with their church family. Joanne is also an avid racquetball player, which helps her maintain her energy and winning spirit—the same one she puts to work for her clients as well.
